About This Journal
An international, peer-reviewed journal focusing contemporary legal issues from local, regional and international researchers in both English and Arabic language. The aim of this journal is to highlight research and development leading to spread legal knowledge and encouraging scientific research, innovation and creativity in the legal field. The journal is following the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Journal History
Founded in September 2022, the Sultan Qaboos University Legal Studies Journal (SQULSJ) has rapidly established itself as a key platform for legal scholarship at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. As the College of Law's official peer-reviewed journal, SQULSJ supports rigorous legal research and discourse, upheld by a committed editorial board. The journal publishes diverse studies addressing local and global legal issues and is accessible in both print and digital formats. Despite its recent inception, SQULSJ is already fostering scholarly collaboration and significantly contributing to the advancement of legal education and research in Oman and beyond.
Publishing schedule
The Sultan Qaboos University Legal Studies Journal (SQULSJ) was initially launched with an annual publication schedule, with its first issue released in September 2022. Starting in 2026, the journal will expand its publication frequency to twice a year, with issues scheduled for release in March and September. This change reflects the journal's commitment to providing more opportunities for disseminating high-quality legal research and engaging with a broader range of contemporary legal issues.
